readymade matted (wedding) albums

Thursday 31st August 2006

I love the look of pre-cut mat openings for wedding photo albums; they give the photos a clean and modern look. But it’s hard to find readymade matted albums and buying matted wedding albums from a studio photographer can be very expensive. Fortunately, there are a few albums out there with pre-cut mat openings. One of my favorites is the line from Adesso albums, which I’ve written about before. Here are some other ideas.

Celine Countryman Matted Albums – These albums have pre-cut mat openings and are of archival quality. They come in a range of colors (Ruby Red, Black, Platinum Blue, Sage, Ivory or Lavender Haze) and can be personalized for an additional $12. Small $17, large $22.

These leather wedding album contain window frames pages that also allow you to slip you photos right into a mat, no adhesive or photo corners needed. I’m not a fan of white wedding albums but there are other colors available, too. These are pricier, though, at $140 for the small and $220 for the large.

Created exclusively for SendAFrame, this professional looking album ($95) has similar stylings to an album that might cost three times as much from a photography studio. The post-bound album contains 20 soft white boards and 40 silver embossed self-adhesive mats in a variety of frame sizes. Finally, for a very simple and inexpensive line of pre-cut mat albums, there is also the Elan series. These albums have a spiral binding which I’m not crazy about; however, the mat openings are simple with curved edges, no tacky embellishments, and the albums are very reasonably priced.
